Heirs Energies Accelerates Production Growth and Operational Excellence

Heirs Energies Limited is taking bold steps to increase production and enhance operational efficiency in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. Through strategic innovations and a commitment to excellence, the company continues to drive its success story in the energy landscape.

The journey of Heirs Energies began in 2021 with the acquisition of OML 17, a prime onshore asset in the Niger Delta. Initially perceived as a new entrant in Nigeria’s energy sector, the company has since demonstrated remarkable progress.

Today, Heirs Energies has evolved from a start-up into one of Nigeria’s leading indigenous energy companies, gaining recognition for its strategic approach to production growth and operational optimization.

Speaking in an interview, Engr. Osayande Igiehon, CEO of Heirs Energies, highlighted the company’s focus on a structured operational framework. This approach is anchored on brownfield excellence, advanced technologies, data-driven insights, cost efficiency, industry collaboration, and community development initiatives. With a strong emphasis on disciplined execution, the company remains resilient in maximizing output from its assets.

As the operator of OML 17, Heirs Energies currently contributes 5% of Nigeria’s crude oil production and 5% of the country’s total gas output. The company has made significant strides in increasing daily oil production from 27,000 to 52,000 barrels per day, while also improving terminal delivery from 3% in December 2021 to 85% today.

Our exceptional progress at OML 17—particularly the increase in production and enhanced terminal delivery—is a direct reflection of Heirs Energies’ dedication to innovation, disciplined execution, resilience, and meaningful stakeholder collaboration, Igiehon stated.

According to the CEO, the company’s success is largely driven by its Brownfield Excellence (BFE) methodology, which focuses on maximizing production from existing fields through structured technical frameworks. By integrating advanced technologies, data analytics, and continuous engagement with host communities, Heirs Energies ensures sustainable and efficient operations.

In the case of OML 17, Heirs Energies has invested in state-of-the-art well interventions, digital field monitoring, and cost-effective production optimization strategies to enhance output while keeping operational expenses in check.

Additionally, the company’s strong relationships with community leaders, local businesses, and government agencies have been instrumental in addressing critical industry challenges such as crude oil theft and environmental risks.

As we expand production, we remain fully committed to minimizing our environmental impact. Our flaring reduction programs, participation in the Nigerian Gas Flare Commercialisation Project, biodiversity conservation efforts, and responsible waste management are key pillars of our sustainability agenda.

We have significantly reduced operating costs without compromising safety or environmental standards. This commitment to efficiency ensures long-term profitability, even amid market volatility. Heirs Energies will continue to embed these best practices across all aspects of our business, from asset revitalization to new acquisitions and expansion projects, Igiehon added.

Looking ahead, Heirs Energies is actively pursuing new growth opportunities. The company is exploring additional asset acquisitions and expanding its footprint across Africa, reinforcing its position as a key player in the continent’s energy sector.

Our goal is to build a diverse portfolio of high-value assets that align with our vision for sustainable energy development, ensuring that we meet Africa’s growing energy demands while driving long-term value for stakeholders.

Through innovation, strategic partnerships, and operational excellence, Heirs Energies remains committed to shaping the future of energy in Nigeria and beyond. The company’s long-term vision is centered on sustainable energy development, resource optimization, and industry leadership, ensuring that it continues to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s energy security and economic
As the company expands, it remains steadfast in upholding the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility, and stakeholder engagement. By continuously refining its operations, investing in cutting-edge technologies, and fostering strong community relationships, Heirs Energies is positioning itself as a leading force in Africa’s evolving energy landscape.

With a focus on resilience, efficiency, and sustainability, Heirs Energies is not just increasing production but also redefining excellence in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry—one milestone at a time.
